Firm History

Richard A. Gullickson (1932-1990) began practicing law in 1959. He started with an office in Rochester. In 1966 he opened an office in Kasson and worked with Kenneth Myster who had been practicing in Kasson since 1926. Richard then assumed Myster's practice upon Myster's retirement. Richard concentrated his law practice in many of the same areas as today's office. The firm was known by many names, but later became just "Gullickson Law Office".

Richard's son, Mark W. Gullickson, began working with his father in 1980 and became an attorney in 1986. He then joined his father's firm and continued the practice after Richard's death in 1990.

Rodney R. Peterson and Mark Gullickson merged their Dodge County practices and formed the partnership of "Gullickson & Peterson, PLLP" for the Kasson/Dodge County practice in 1997. The firm took over the City Attorney work for Hayfield in 1998. Daniel L. Ziebell joined the firm as an associate attorney in early 1999. On January 1, 2000, Dan became a partner and the firm was then renamed "Gullickson, Peterson & Ziebell, PLLP". In the fall of 2001, the partnership expanded to the Rochester office of Gullickson Law Office, P.A. and a satellite office in Pine Island. On October 6, 2003, Anthony J. "A.J." Moosbrugger joined the Kasson office as an associate attorney. As of January 1, 2005, the partnership dissolved and Dan continued the practice in Kasson with AJ until 2007, when AJ left the firm.

Daniel L. Ziebell has remained at the same location in the Kasson Mini Mall and retained the files from Gullickson Law Office and the Kasson files of the partnerships. Dan renamed the office as "Ziebell Law Office" with A.J. continuing as an associate attorney, with legal assistants Katherine "Kay" Fiksen, and Cheryl Weiberg. A.J. left the firm in 2007. Cheryl retired in 2020 and Kay retired in 2022. Tanya Young is the current legal assistant.

In 2012 Dan opened a satellite office in Hayfield at 100 2nd St. NE, with regular hours on Wednesday mornings and by appointment.

In 2010 Dan incorporated his business as Ziebell Law Office, P.A
